We inspect the whole house looking for water intrusions (see photos below), and electrical systems. All inspections come with a full report detailing the area of concern. For homeowners we are able to find hidden problems like those in the photos below and we also use this equipment to perform home energy audits. We are able to find where insulation may be failing and where heat is lost and gained through the homes exterior. This is money literally slipping through the cracks of the house.

How and where do you start?
A home energy audit will identify problem areas, where you are wasting energy. During our audit we perform tests on the home. First, we do a blower door test this locates where your home is "leaking", this could be around doors, windows, attic accesses. Also we perform a duct blaster test, this determines where your duct is leaking conditioned air to places you don't want it to, and pulling it in from attics or crawlspaces. Most homes have anywhere between 20% - 50% leakage, making your HVAC equipment inefficient and run longer and longer. We also use our infrared camera to locate those areas that are leaking, and to look for other areas of concern like electrical breakers, switches, and outlets. When we are done, we outline a path to save that wasted energy (which is money) and put it back in your pocket.
